2012 Amateur Cake Decorating Competition

The Third Annual Amateur Cake Decorating Competition takes place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25, at the 2012 Central Ohio Home & Garden Show. Amateur cake decorators are encouraged to enter to become one of only five finalists for this year’s competition.

Amateur cake decorators are encouraged to email one photo of a past cake masterpiece to cakes@dispatch.com or mail to the Central Ohio Home & Garden Show Amateur Cake Decorating Competition, Attn: Christy Muhoberac, The Columbus Dispatch, 34 S. Third St., Columbus, OH 43215. To be considered, all entries must be received by noon on Wednesday, Jan. 18, for consideration. Prints must be at least 4” X 6” or jpegs at 300 dpi. Entrants must be over 18 years old and include their name, mailing address, e-mail address, date of birth and daytime phone number.

The five most creative decorators will be chosen to compete for cash prizes before a live audience. Judges will include Dispatch Food Editor Robin Davis, Crave editor Shelley Mann and 10TV’s Karina Nova. The Grand Prize winner will receive $500 cash and second place will receive $250 cash.
